Mrs. Clayton's 1st period 7th grade ELA students had the privilege of meeting famous author, Joan Bauer, Tuesday morning at the Rockwall County Library. Joan Bauer has written 13 books for young adults and her current book, Soar, is on the Bluebonnet list. Mrs. Bauer spoke to the students about becoming a writer and the process that she goes through to write her books. She also took the kids through a creative writing exercise and spoke to them about creating dynamic characters in stories. The students loved her! Several students were also able to get books autographed by Mrs. Bauer.
