PALS Most Inspirational Reception

palsThe Utley Middle School Pals recently held their annual "Most Inspirational Person" Reception in the library. Each pal had to think of and invite one person they viewed as inspirational. The inspiration could come from the type of life the person lived or from something they had done for the student to inspire them to be better in their lives.

Parents, former teachers, coaches, friends, and relatives all gathered as students offered speeches honoring their person.

One student, Parker Gustafson invited his grandfather, Tom, "I invited him because he's my role model. I look up to him and the way he helps people. I also follow him because of the way he follows Christ. The reception was a great way to celebrate people important to you, and I loved the atmosphere."

Another student, Jackson Cornehl invited his father, Trenton, "He's the type of person I want to be when I grow up. And during the presentation, it was fun listening to others talk about their person and how that person impacted them."

When asked about their PALS experience for the year, Jackson said, "Being a PAL feels like one of the top three things you can do at Utley. It's fun because you get to interact with younger kids plus have leadership opportunities."

Parker added, "Yeah, it's great. You get to be yourself while helping others."
