Hands on Science

  oreo

The science students in Ms. Jaquez's class recently learned about the moon's phases, and to cap it all off, they recreated the phases with Oreos! Students had to properly represent each moon phase with the cream filling on the inside.
The different phases included Gibbous, Crescent, Quarter, Full and New. By recreating the phases, students were able to solidify the knowledge in their minds while also having a treat for completing the unit.
"This activity is always one of my favorites," Ms. Jaquez said, "It lets the students show what they know in a visual way while having fun! Clean up is always easy too. There is nothing left over."
