Fill Your Life with Color

counselorThe Utley Middle School counselors, Mrs. Rivera and Mrs. Sarten facilitated a lunchtime activity for students during all three lunches this week. For this activity, the 7th & 8th grade students were invited to participate with a hands on lesson outside of the cafeteria after they'd finished eating.

This month the topic was See You and Fill Your Life with Color: An Accurate view of one’s self, including strengths, challenges, feelings and core beliefs. Students designed hearts based on the colors that describe their feelings, strengths and characteristics. Our students had a great time reflecting on the characteristics that makes them unique and help them face different challenges in life.

Mrs. Rivera mentioned, "It's a great way to connect with the kids. We have these activities that let us talk to students one on one and discuss important topics with them in a casual setting."
