Lunch in the Library

Utley celebrated School Library Month with lunches in the library! Every Friday, students were invited to bring their lunch in and experience different activities that the library has to offer. On week one, students got hands on with supplies from the craft corner and learned to make frienship bracelets and pom-poms from yarn. The craft room is thanks to an REF grant and is open before school and during lunches for students.

Another activity was making charms with Shrinkidinks. Students created original charms on larger sheets of plastic that were then put under heat to shrink and create solid charms.

Finally, working with the ITS's, students learned how to make GIFs using WeVideo on chromebooks. Students each made amusing, school related GIFs and the best ones received prizes.

It was a great way to celebrate the library and provide opportunities for students!
