The Rockwall Yellowjackets went into Friday nights game as the underdog to the entire state of Texas, but the Jackets went in thinking they were Goliath!
The Allen Eagles entered the matchup as the reigning state champions and had ran up the score in almost every game this season enterting the Area Round.
The Jackets punched first as Jacob Clark and Jaxon Smith were able to connect for 81 yards giving the Jackets the early 7-0 lead and also made the Eagles play from behind for the first time this season.
The two teams traded blows over and over and over again and by halftime the Jackets only trailed by two points.
However, the strength of the Eagles proved to be too much for the Jackets, but the fight never faded. The Jackets fell 52-40 at Williams Stadium. As of today, it was the tallest task for the Allen Eagles.
The Jackets could wake up later in December realizing they lost to 3 eventual State Champions. (Highland Park by 7. Longview by 7. Allen by 12)
The Jackets will return many key starters including Jaxon Smith who caught 20 passes and nearly hit the 2000 yard mark. (Rowlett game cancelled).
Rockwall could have a chance to meet Allen again if the cards fall the same way next season.
