4th Graders Head to the Theater

4th Grade

The Jones 4th graders recently visited the Dallas Children’s Theater to watch Ms. Nelson has a Field Day. The play is based on the highly popular book and the students were familiar with the Ms. Nelson stories before visiting the venue.

In the play, the Horace B. Smedley Tornadoes never win, and have never even scored a point.  The coach is at his wits end and calls in reinforcements.  To whip the team into shape, Miss Nelson, dressed as the mean and strict Viola Swamp, comes in and takes over.

The 4th graders were at the edge of their seats waiting to see if the Tornadoes would ever win a game! They enjoyed the music, action, and funny situations throughout the play.

Afterwards, the group headed to Harry Myers park to have a “field day” of their own!  Such a fun and educational day!
