Pullen Elementary Students Create Storybook Character Pumpkin Patch
Walking down the first-grade hallway at Pullen Elementary during October is like taking a stroll through a storybook character pumpkin patch.
In October, the first graders choose a book to read at home with their families, decide how they are going to depict their favorite character from the book as a pumpkin and work together to create their storybook pumpkin masterpieces.
Students present their pumpkin creations in class, sharing information about the story and the character they created. This annual tradition at Pullen Elementary brings students and their families together in a fun, family literacy activity.
