Character Education Day at Linda Lyon Elementary School

Character Education Day at Linda Lyon

The Lyon Cubs recently celebrated Character Education day. These educational lessons focus on various themes and standards that implement a positive educational experience for each student. Teachers take the monthly theme and incorporate it into their lesson plans. With books, videos, team building activities and more, the hope is that students take these objectives into their future pursuits and become the leaders they were born to be.

The first Character Education day focused on “Relationships.” Students and faculty wore blue to celebrate the importance of healthy, positive relationships in their everyday lives. Lyon Cubs researched and defined “relationships,” brainstormed what it means to be a good friend and collaborated ways to best confront and apologize after a friend’s feelings have been hurt.

In October, the Character Education theme is “Say No to Bullying” and will occur on October 18th. Lyon Cubs will wear red to celebrate.
