Rockwall ISD’s Culinary Arts Team recently won the Kids Fit Menu Invitational, competing with 17 other high schools. The focus of the competition was on healthy food for children combined with their passion for cooking and culinary arts.
Their challenge? To create a kid’s meal with ingredients that On the Border has on hand daily. The meal had to be less than 500 calories, was judged on taste, appearance and feasibility to make it in a commercial kitchen quickly for busy restaurants.
Their winning meal will be on the menu in more than 150 On The Border restaurants in North America. In January 2018, On The Border will launch the winning meal at 5-7 local restaurants before launching it nationwide in March of 2018.
Congratulations to the Culinary Arts Team: Madison Alexander (Senior, RHS), Preslie Mann (Junior, RHHS), and Evan Scott (Senior, RHHS).
Participating restaurants were Snuffers, El Phoenix, Top Golf and On The Border.
