Southwest Airlines Adopt a Pilot Program at Springer Elementary

Melissa Tyner, 5^th grade teacher at Springer Elementary, is connecting her classroom with Southwest Airlines’ “Adopt a Pilot” program. 

A pilot will visit the classroom on four occasions to provide aviation curriculum that will integrate multiple subjects, while giving students an official workbook that was developed in cooperation with Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum to document data and research information, and record engineering designs that will make a real-world connection beyond the classroom walls.
