Rochell Elementary Teacher Honored by the North Texas Honda Dealers

Traci Tatom, Rochell Elementary 4th grade science and social studies teacher, was recently honored by the North Texas Honda Dealers with a Little Help from Colleen Coyle, meteorologist at WFAA.

Mrs. Tatom was surprised during a Career Day assembly, where the Helpful Honda gave her science learning materials and supplies, including a professional weather monitoring system, Ambient Weather Professional Weather Station with Internet Monitoring, science and STEM in action kits and other basic supplies such as markers, dry-erase boards and more.

Collen Coyle was the guest speaker for the Career Day assembly. She spoke with students about the weather and some of the tools meteorologists use to measure weather.

To celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week with Random Acts of Helpfulness, the North Texas Honda Dealers and the Helpful Honda people are honoring the efforts of deserving local school teachers who double as role models for their students and make education an unforgettable and meaningful experience both inside and outside of the classroom.

“Mrs. Tatom displays outstanding professionalism and positive leadership at all times,” said Principal Kelly Crossland. “Whether it’s inspiring students to succeed or leading her colleagues in learning new and innovative teaching strategies, Mrs. Tatom is always willing to lend a helpful hand, and share new ideas, and sets a clear path for others to follow in an effort to make herself, and her colleagues better educators.”
