Pullen Elementary SAGE Student Wins Logo Contest

Pullen Elementary SAGE Student Wins Logo Contest

The Rockwall ISD SAGE Department recently held a logo design contest to pick a logo for the program, where all elementary SAGE students were encouraged to participate.

Alexa Lee of Pullen Elementary School won the contest with her design.

“Alexa is an exceptional sixth grade student at Pullen Elementary school,” said Tammy Fieldsmith, SAGE teacher at Pullen Elementary, “and her design exemplifies SAGE.”

In Alexa’s design, she uses each letter to represent lessons learned in class.  The ‘s’ is filled with scientific equipment, the ‘a’ is covered in art supplies, the ‘g’ demonstrates geography and the ‘e’ shows an engineer.

This school year Alexa created and initiated “Alexa’s Art Club” where every Tuesday before school, she motivates young artists with her passion for art by teaching different artistic methods.

“I love art because it is not the same thing over and over,” said Alexa. “Artists can draw, sculpt, animate or use recyclable objects. I hope these children are inspired by different art styles and then make the style their own.”

Alexa’s winning design will be refined by a professional graphic artist and the final design will be revealed in the fall.
