Mr. Samples is completing his 21st year in education. He most recently served four years as the principal at Mesquite High School in Mesquite ISD where he was named 2017-2018 Principal of the Year. Early in his career, he worked as a teacher and coach at Rockwall High School for six years. His professional experience also includes serving as assistant principal in Mabank ISD, associate principal at Poteet High School, and associate principal and academic dean at Mesquite High School. He earned a Master of Education Administration degree from Texas A&M-Commerce and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Ouachita Baptist University where he also played football.
Over the coming weeks, Mr. Samples plans to meet with Rockwall High School staff and parents.
