Rockwall ISD Holds 3rd Annual District VEX IQ Robotics Tournament
Rockwall Independent School District along with the Rockwall Education Foundation recently hosted its 3rd Annual District VEX IQ Robotics Tournament, held at the new Gene Burton College & Career Academy.
Approximately 400 students, families and volunteers were in attendance and a record 40 Rockwall ISD elementary robotics teams registered for the event.
The tournament was sponsored for the third year by the Rockwall Education Foundation, providing volunteer judges, sold t-shirts and provided concessions. All proceeds from sales will benefit Rockwall ISD Education Foundation grants.
The tournament was run by both the Rockwall-Heath High School Black Hawk Robotics and the Rockwall High School Full Metal Jackets. Both high school teams also mentor elementary robotics teams throughout the year.
This year the high school robotics teams hosted mentoring nights at the new Gene Burton College & Career Academy to prepare teams for participation in the event.
