Rockwall ISD DECA Students Advance to International Competition After Competing at State
Dr. Gene Burton College & Career Academy recently had 13 DECA students compete among 4,380 students at the State DECA Competition. Of those 13, seven were awarded either first or second place in their Business and Marketing Event.
The three awarded 1st place now advance to the DECA International Career and Development Conference (ICDC) being held in Orlando, Florida in April where they will join more than 13,000 international top competitors.

Nathan Hunter (RHS) – Principles of Business Management and Administration
Trinity Olmstead (RHHS) – Apparel and Accessories Marketing Series
Levi Seals (RHHS) – Food Marketing
ICDC Alternates, Awarded second place
Kayla James (RHHS) – Entrepreneurship Series
Westley Giadolor (RHHS), Jason Talley (RHHS), and Matthew Coleman (RHS) – Public Relations Project
