Phoebe Ishmael, 7th grade student from Utley MS, named Rockwall County 2022 Spelling Bee Champion
January 20, 2022
The campus spelling bee winners from each elementary and middle school campus recently participated in the Rockwall County Spelling Bee where Phoebe Ishmael, 7th grade student from Utley Middle School, was named Rockwall County’s Spelling Bee Champion.
This is Phoebe’s 4th time to participate at the Rockwall County Bee. She has won her school spelling bee every year since 4th grade. Phoebe was the Rockwall County Spelling Bee runner-up last year.
Phoebe will move on to participate in the Dallas Regional Spelling Bee in March of this year.
Congratulations to Owen Koziol, our Rockwall County Spelling Bee runner-up. Owen is a 6th grader at Amy Parks-Heath Elementary and this is his 2nd time to participate in the Rockwall County Spelling Bee.
Students tested online, through the Scripps National Spelling Bee platform and were asked to spell 25 words and identify the definitions of 25 words.
