Rockwall ISD recently held a dedication ceremony for Lupe Garcia Elementary School.
Lupe Garcia is an educator with a distinguished 41-year teaching career with 40 years in Rockwall ISD serving the students and families at Dobbs ES and Rochell ES. She grew up in Fate and graduated from Rockwall High School with honors in 1966. Garcia and her family continue to reside in Rockwall.
Resolution of Honor
Whereas, Lupe Garcia grew up in the city of Fate and is a highly respected resident of Rockwall County, Texas;
Whereas, Lupe Garcia attended Rockwall ISD schools and is a Rockwall High School honor graduate of the Class of 1966;
Whereas, Lupe Garcia’s distinguished career in education spans 41 years, 40 of those years in the Rockwall Independent School District;
Whereas, in the course of her 40 years serving as a classroom teacher at Howard Dobbs and Amanda Rochell Elementary Schools and continued serving after retirement as a substitute teacher;
Whereas, Lupe Garcia’s work in public education made an indelible impression on the lives of thousands of Rockwall County students; and
Whereas, in keeping with the established tradition of naming schools in honor of distinguished local educators and community members;
Now, Therefore, be it resolved in grateful appreciation for and recognition of her dedicated service, the Board of Trustees of the Rockwall Independent School District hereby names its sixteenth elementary school to be forever known in her honor as Lupe Garcia Elementary School; and
Be it further resolved that a record of this resolution be placed in the minutes prepared for this meeting.
