The Board of Trustees approved the hiring of a new executive director of curriculum and instruction for secondary and two new principals at the May regular board meeting.
Kevin Samples is the executive director of curriculum and instruction for secondary. Mr. Samples has been the principal at Rockwall High School for five years. He will continue to support the high school and all other secondary school in his new role.
Kody Hergert is the new principal at Quest Academy. Mr. Hergert brings long-standing experience and leadership in Rockwall ISD to the position and was most recently an assistant principal at Utley Middle School.
Laurie Branch is the new principal at Sharon Shannon Elementary. Mrs. Branch was most recently a principal in Forney ISD and has previously held campus leadership positions in Rockwall ISD. Mrs. Branch said she is excited to be back in the district.
