History was made yesterday as the Board of Trustees, district leaders, students, families and the community gathered to break ground for two ninth grade campuses.
One campus will serve Rockwall-Heath High School ninth grade students and the other campus will serve Rockwall High School ninth grade students beginning in Fall 2024. Current seventh graders, who will be the first class to attend the ninth grade campuses, spoke about their excitement for the learning opportunities they will have at a campus just for ninth grade.
Although ninth grade students will be apart from the main high schools, Rockwall-Heath High School Principal Todd Bradford and Rockwall High School Principal Kevin Samples assured that each high school and their respective ninth grade campus are one family.
Everyone in attendance was invited to sign a beam that will be part of the construction of the campuses.
