Rockwall HS Theatre Student Nominated for Outstanding Featured Performer by Broadway Dallas

Broadway Dallas recently announced the 2022 nominees for the 11th Annual Broadway Dallas High School Musical Theatre Awards (HSMTA). Among the nominees is Madeleine Holloway (Rockwall High School) who was nominated for Outstanding Featured Performer in Anastasia: The Musical.

 

The awards ceremony will take place live at the Music Hall at Fair Park on Friday, May 20, 2022. Tickets will go on sale today at 10 a.m.   

 

Madeleine’s bio from the Anastasia: The Musical’s playbill:

 

“Madeleine has been dancing for 15 years and is currently at Texas Ballet Theater School for her 11th season. She has performed in works by Ben Stevenson, including The Nutcracker and Cinderella. Favourite repertoire she has danced includes roles from Swan Lake, Coppélia, Paquita, Don Quixote, Giselle, Balanchine’s Sylvia, and The Naiad and the Fishermen. She likes other dance styles such as tap, ballroom, Fosse, modern, and Russian character. Other interests include history, historical costume design, sewing, film, and anything vintage. Madeleine is excited for her first musical and to have been able to set and choreograph the Quartet at the Ballet scene.”

 

The Broadway Dallas High School Musical Theatre Awards aim to inspire and honor excellence in high school musical theater, and to recognize the importance of musical theater and arts education within the North Texas community. This regional program culminates at the Music Hall with an awards ceremony, modeled after the Tony Awards®, to recognize outstanding musical theater productions and students.
