Jones Elementary is starting the summer with reading! The students of Jones all received books and stem activities to keep them learning into June.
Students in grades kinder through second grade all received a summer bag with books to read, workbooks to keep their brains engages, STEM activities, and information for parents to help their children grow over the break.
Students in grades third through sixth all received a copy of The One and Only Ivan for One School One Book. Additionally, each student gained access to a particular Canvas course with videos and articles about the real Ivan, book trailers, and a video of Ms. Loya reading a novel section. Ms. Segura prepared STEM challenge bags that pertained to the book for each student to work on at home with their parents. Many students started reading the book the last few days of school and spoke animatedly about the story. We hope students stay engaged throughout the summer and keep their brains working!
