  • Does every kid have to have an endorsement when entering high school/9th grade?

    Posted by:

We encourage every student to actively pursue the multidisciplinary endorsement, the traditional college/university endorsement, as they explore additional endorsements. Students should also start to develop a plan for College, Career and Military Readiness (CCMR) in their 9th grade year. Students' interests, goals, and plans may change yearly based on need, and endorsements can be modified if necessary. The school counselor is the best resource to support parents and students through the process.

  • Can 9th Grade students attend classes at the Gene Burton College & Career Academy?

    Posted by:

Yes, 9th grade students will be able to attend classes at the GBCCA. Many of the 9th grade specific courses at the GBCCA (i.e. Principles of Law, Principles of A/V, etc.) are being moved to the 9th grade campus. Classes that require specialized equipment including Computer Science, Culinary, or Robotics will remain at the GBCCA where 9th grade students may take the course. The Heath 9th Grade Campus shares the same site with the Gene Burton CCA so students will be able to walk from one campus to the other.
