Accountability
-
As a district, individual schools and teachers, we are measured by many standards. We believe Rockwall ISD is among the best places in the state to educate your children but we also know that transparency and objective standards help administrators, teachers and trustees focus attention on opportunities for improvement. As we continually strive to improve and refine the way we educate, we are providing this information as a way to invite you to further understand how our district operates and is measured. State accountability ratings are on hold for the 2022-2023 school year.
Academic Performance
-
The state accountability system assigns ratings to every campus and district in the Texas public education system each year. Generally, campuses and districts earn ratings by having performance that meets absolute standards or by demonstrating sufficient improvement towards the standard. In addition to evaluating the performance of all students, the performance of individual groups of students is held to the rating criteria. The student groups are defined as the major ethnic and racial groups as well as students designated as economically disadvantaged. All of the evaluated groups must meet the criteria for a given rating category in order to earn that label.
For more information about the system, visit the TEA website.

School Report Cards
The purpose of the school report cards is to inform parents and guardians about a campus’s individual characteristics and its academic performance. The SRC is a report required by Section 39.305 of the Texas Education Code and is prepared each year by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for each campus in the state. There is no district or state level SRC. It is a campus-only report. The SRC is intended to give a broad view of campus performance by combining the following information:
- the campus’s accountability rating
- data from the campus’s Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR), and
- financial information
The 2021-22 School Report Cards are available on the Texas Education Agency website at this link. The district and all campus School Report Cards can also be found below. The information contained in the SRC is described in more detail in a document available at the link provided. The SRC for a school may or may not have all the information described because the information presented depends on whether the school is an elementary, middle, or high school. TEA’s 2022-23 School Report Cards (SRCs) are on hold due to the delay in the release of State Accountability results.
If you have difficulty accessing the information from the website, hard copies of the reports can be made available at the campus or district offices. If you have questions about the information or reports, you may contact the Director of Accountability, Assessment & Professional Learning at katie.braden@rockwallisd.org.
