David Hood Award

The David Hood Award is given to a 6th grader each year to honor a young boy, David, who attended Shannon when he was very young.  He passed away from a heart defect, but he lived a full life, filled with these qualities:

  • Joyful
  • Genuine
  • Loving
  • Courageous

The 6th grade students vote on a student they feel possesses these qualities.  Many students received votes this year which tells you a lot about the character of this group of students!  Asher definitely lives his life with these qualities daily and inspires others.
