History

School’s Namesake
The school was named in honor of Lupe Garcia who grew up in the city of Fate and is a highly respected resident of Rockwall County, Texas. She attended Rockwall ISD schools and is a Rockwall High School honor graduate of the Class of 1966. Lupe Garcia’s distinguished career in education spans 41 years, 40 of those years in the Rockwall Independent School District.

Lupe Garcia’s work in public education made an indelible impression on the lives of thousands of Rockwall County students.

The sixteenth elementary school in the district, Lupe Garcia Elementary was built in 2021.
