Meet the Librarian

Hey there! My name is Mrs. Applegate and I am your Garcia Library Media Specialist. I have been in Rockwall ISD for the last 11 years, serving nine as a teacher at Rockwall High School. Fall 2021 was my first year as an elementary librarian and I was honored to open Lupe Garcia Elementary! It is a great place to be!

My husband, Tom, and I have been married for 10 years. He also works in-district at the RISD Aquatic Center. We have two sweet daughters, Paige (7) and Hadley (5). To complete our family, we have two German Shorthaired Pointers named Bonnie and Chunk. 

Outside of school, I enjoy reading, cooking, spending time with my family, and being around the competitive swimming pool. We are Rockwall residents and love everything about this amazing community!

I am eager and ready to be back at the Garcia Library! I cannot wait to see the kids and create a year they will never forget! It will be one FOR THE BOOKS!
