Craft and Sculpture II Course Description

  • In order to make art class enjoyable and make the most of class time, it is important for each student to follow class procedures and rules. We will be making higher level projects; therefore it’s extremely important that students understands the importance of working safely with art supplies/tools. I want to stress the importance of you speaking to your child about following procedures and working safely in this class. It is a large class and I really need them focused and paying attention when I am teaching the use of tools and various processes.

The process of art teaches problem-solving skills, patience, responsibility, creativity, and critical thinking. Therefore, do not worry about this class if you feel that you are not the best artist; with dedication you will do great.

Get excited, we have amazing projects planned for our Craft & Sculpture II class! And please remember you have to think big to create big!

I have sent an information sheet home to update your contact information and to collect art fees, please make sure you fill these out and return them to me as soon as possible. I would also like to post student art work on my school website. I need your written permission to be able to do this, so please fill out the paper completely. If you would prefer that you child’s name, picture and/or artwork not appear on the site please indicate so on the same sheet. Also, this year I will allow students to listen to their MP3 players during class on workdays only, please see rules and procedures for detailed rules on this. Please speak to your child about choosing music which is appropriate for school, please stress the importance of this to your child. If your child chooses to use his/her player in class they are fully responsible for it, school administrators (or myself) will not look for misplaced or stolen players.
