Welcome to First Grade

Welcome to Nebbie Williams First Grade. First grade is an exciting growth time in your student’s life. We want to foster the zeal that reading can provoke for a lifetime! We will be encouraging the development of comprehending fiction and nonfiction texts so that students are able to understand, make inferences and draw conclusions. Students will become critical thinkers through reading and their development of mathematical skills. All learning in first grade will be vital so that the curriculum they learn develops in them the ability to apply their knowledge to real world situations. Students will learn to communicate to others through conversation and written skills. First grade is a time to explore, observe, and experiment in the world around them. They will amaze themselves and everyone at the growth they make this year. We are excited to lead them on their learning journeys this year! We will be communicating with you each Monday through a newsletter all about their learning experiences.
