Dr. Michelle Rester

Welcome!  I teach Anatomy & Physiology to 11th and 12th graders at the Dr. Gene Burton College and Career Academy.  Our class covers the structures of the human body and how these structures function together. I am an Internal Medicine physician, so I enjoy showing students how this subject applies to healthcare jobs and how they can use this information to care for future patients.  Our class is intended to give students a foundation in Anatomy & Physiology to help prepare them for college Anatomy & Physiology and to educate them about health in general.

Bio:  I graduated from Baylor University with a B.S. in Biology.  I graduated from University of Texas Medical School at Houston (now McGovern Medical School).  I completed my Residency in Internal Medicine, a Fellowship in Geriatrics, and practiced Internal Medicine and Geriatrics.  My husband and I have 3 adult children who all graduated from Rockwall High School.  I really enjoy working high school students as they begin to make future career and educational plans and sharing this fascinating subject with my students.
