**Rockwall High School Robotics Shines Bright: Secures 3rd Place, Wins IMPACT Award, and Nominated for Woodie Flowers Award**

Rockwall, TX - March 24, 2024 - Rockwall High School Robotics Team #1296- Full Metal Jackets emerged victorious after a thrilling weekend competition, finishing a commendable 3rd place overall despite a challenging final round. The team's exceptional performance also garnered them the prestigious IMPACT Award, recognizing their outstanding contributions and influence in the field of robotics and promoting STEM.

Adding to their list of accolades, Mr. David Smith, a dedicated teacher, coach, and longtime mentor of the team, has been nominated for the esteemed Woodie Flowers Award, exemplifying his leadership and commitment to nurturing the next generation of innovators.

With this remarkable achievement, Rockwall High School Robotics is now setting its sights on the upcoming UIL State competition in a few weeks, where they are poised to showcase their skills and passion for robotics on a larger stage. The UIL State competition will be held April 3rd-6th in Houston, TX and gives the team an opportunity to earn a spot to compete at the world championships a few weeks later.
