Rockwall Robotics Team 1296 Shines at UIL State Robotics Tournament, Qualifies for World Championship

 

Houston, Texas, April 6, 2024 - Rockwall Robotics Team 1296 from Rockwall High School exhibited exceptional talent and prowess at the UIL State Robotics Tournament held at the George Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas, from April 3-6, 2024. Competing among a pool of over 200 teams, Team 1296 secured an impressive 14th place in the state rankings.

 

The team's standout performances included Jackson Griffith's recognition as a Dean's List finalist, showcasing his dedication and leadership within the robotics community. Moreover, the invaluable guidance and mentorship provided by David Smith, a long-time mentor and GBCCA teacher, earned him the prestigious Woodie Flowers finalist title.

 

Team 1296's remarkable achievements didn't end there, as they were also recognized as Impact Award finalists, further highlighting their commitment to innovation and community engagement. Their stellar performance at the state level led to a well-deserved qualification for the upcoming World Championship in Houston, Texas, scheduled for April 17-20, 2024.

 

The World Championship robotics competition is set to host over 500 teams from various countries and regions across the United States, promising an exciting showcase of talent, creativity, and technological ingenuity in the field of robotics.
