Mrs. Kristi Mouse
Welcome to art at Cain Middle School! My name is Kristi Mouse, and I am a native Texan who grew up in Waco, TX. I received my Bachelor of Science in Education, with an emphasis in art, from Baylor University in 1999. Following college, I had the privilege of teaching art at Amy Parks Heath Elementary for six years. Not only do I teach art, but I'm also an artist myself! I even had a mural business! One of my most noted paintings is an 8 X 8 foot painting commissioned by the Kroger Co. for the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, Texas, where the painting is now displayed on the third floor.
My husband Boyd and I have lived in Rockwall/Heath area for 11 years raising our three kids. Bryce is now in 7th grade at Cain. Kirbey is in 5th and Brooks is in 3rd at Amy Parks Heath Elementary School. In my twelve years as a homemaker before returning last year to teach at Cain, I continued to paint murals and commissioned pieces of art, mentor high school and elementary girls, speak on health education on behalf of a health and wellness foundation, and lead fitness classes.
Teaching at Cain as an art teacher is a dream come true! I look forward to developing relationships with students, inspiring their love for art, refining their skills, and most importantly encouraging them to become life long learners and artists.
