  • PARENT LETTER- 2022-2023

    Cain Parent(s),

We have a great group of incoming 8th graders and are excited to meet the new 7th graders.  We look forward to a very successful school year, which will include a lot of hard work and fun! Please read this document carefully and let me know if you have any questions!

Physical Form- All students must have a completed physical turned in to Coach Pike before the first day of school, or they cannot participate in athletics. You can email student’s physicals to Brittany.pike@rockwallisd.org

Rank One- Every student participating in Athletics must complete the online forms through Rank One. Make sure to use your student’s full name as it was listed when enrolling them and the correct student ID number or the system will not recognize them.  This must be done prior to the first day of school or they cannot participate.

    www.rankonesport.com

Click on the tab at the top that says “For Parents”

Click on “Fill out electronic forms”

**If your athlete does not appear in Rank One with their student ID number, please allow a couple of weeks and then try again.

Athletic Clothing- Please order your child’s athletic wear online using the following website https://caingirls2022.itemorder.com/shop/sale/  . T-Shirt, shorts, sweatpants, and a sweatshirt are required.  Athletes will be required to wear the t-shirt and shorts every day so consider buying more than one set to keep from having to wash them daily. Orders will be delivered to Cain Middle School prior to the start of school. All orders must be done by 06/26/2022

Volleyball Tryouts- They will take place August 16th – 19th. Tryouts will be conducted from 7:00 – 9:00 AM for 7th graders and 3:00 – 5:00 PM for 8th graders.  The only thing required will be a t-shirt with their tryout number written on it (we will provide the number on the 1st day of school).

Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions!

  • 22-23 Girls Athletics FAQ

The following are frequently asked questions about expectations of girls’ athletics:
When are volleyball tryouts and what do they need?
    - Tryouts will be the 2nd day of school. For 7th grade, doors will open at 7:00AM and they
need to be on the court by 7:15AM. For 8th grade, tryouts will last until 5:00PM. They
will need to wear a white shirt and black shorts. We will write their tryout number in
black sharpie on the shirt. If you have knee pads, please wear them. Don’t go out and
    buy any specifically for tryouts.
What happens if my daughter doesn’t make the volleyball team?
    - She will still be in athletics but will be a part of our off-season program. During the
period, she will lift weights, work on her endurance, increase her speed, and start
basketball fundamentals. She will not be required to come early or stay late at school.
Are parents allowed to write an excuse note for not participating in athletics when their
    daughter is sick or injured?
    - No. We only accept doctor notes. With that being said, the only way an athlete can
sit out of a workout is if a doctor deems them completely incapacitated. If your child
goes to the doctor for a sprained ankle, please don’t let the doctor write a note for
them to completely sit out of athletics. The note needs to say, “Child may still
participate in anything that doesn’t bear weight on ankle.” We also understand
athletes simply not feeling well. It is their responsibility to communicate with a coach.
For example, “Hey coach. My stomach really hurts today. I just wanted to let you
know in case it looks like I’m not giving you my best.”
What does my daughter wear in athletics?
    - Workout clothes must be purchased from Rockwall Sports Center and are required
every single day. We encourage buying multiple sets so you don’t have to do laundry
every night. Also, proper laced up tennis shoes are required and no jewelry is allowed

    CAIN GYMNASTICS
    Try-out Information
    2022-2023
Thank you for taking interest in our gymnastics program. We are excited to meet you and
hope that we can accommodate as many as possible into our program. We take pride in
developing these athletes to their highest potential. We strive to develop gymnasts that can
compete for Heath High School in the future.
Tryouts are Tuesday, May 3rd at Heath HS in the gymnastics gym located in the indoor
facility from from 4:00 to 5:30 PM. It is a come and go tryout. We take 6 in at a time and it takes
    about 20 minutes.
Gymnasts are required to have a UIL Physical Form filled out from a physician that
clears them to tryout and participate in Rockwall ISD athletics. Physicals are only good for
one year. Current 7th grade athletes that already have a physical on file do not need a new one until
the first day of school. You can find the physical form on the UIL website at:
    https://www.rockwallisd.com/cms/lib3/TX02215269/Centricity/Domain/124/PrePhysFormRvsd1_10
    _20.pdf
Middle School Gymnastics competes levels 4-8 and follows USAG guidelines. Gymnasts
practice during 4th period from 11:25-12:35 at Heath HS in the Gymnastics gym. There is a shuttle
bus everyday at 11:08 AM that takes them to Heath HS and at 12:40 PM to return to Cain.
The cost for participating in the Cain Gymnastics program is $200.00. For girls this covers
2 workout leotards, spandex shorts, and a meet day t-shirt and for boys two sets of practice shirts
and shorts. Cain Middle School issues competitive attire.
If you have any questions about the girls program please feel free to email Coach Holden
at jennifer.holden@rockwallisd.org. If you have any questions about the boys program please email
Coach Pershin at james.pershin@rockwallisd.org. We look forward to seeing you at tryouts!!!
    Thank you,
