Tuesday night the Orange Wave Band went to the UIL Region 3 marching band contest at Mesquite’s Memorial Stadium. After a stunning performance, the band was awarded a first division rating from each of the three judges, the highest rating a band can receive at this level. Because of Tuesday night’s result, the band advances to the UIL Area C Marching Band Contest on Saturday!
As a warm up to Area, we will have a community performance at Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium at 7 pm Friday night. This performance is free and open to the public, so come support these students as they prepare for a big day on Saturday!
Saturday’s Area preliminary performance is at 9:45 am at Mesquite Memorial Stadium. At the conclusion of prelims, which includes 31 of the best bands from the DFW metroplex, the top 12 ranked bands will advance to finals for another performance on Saturday evening. At the end of finals, the top 6 ranked bands will advance to the UIL State Marching Band Contest.
