On February 19, 2024, the Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees approved the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the Renovations and Additions to JW Williams Middle School and Maurine Cain Middle School in the total amount of $74,983,280.00. The District’s construction management team – coordinating with the architectural consultant firm and the construction manager – has worked diligently over the past several months to reduce the total overall cost of the new facility while still delivering on the concept presented to voters in November 2021.
The GMP approved by the Board of Trustees includes final design elements for both middle schools that include new fine arts additions, new gymnasium/tornado shelter, classroom additions, interior renovations and modernizations, expansion of the existing cafeteria and kitchen areas, parking, on-site roadways, in addition to many other amenities that provide a wonderful educational environment for District students.
The District anticipates the start of construction to begin in June 2024 with a final estimated completion date of July 2025.
