Rockwall ISD Fashion Design students take 1st and 2nd place in the FCCLA State Fashion Design Competition

Rockwall ISD Fashion Design students take 1st and 2nd place in the FCCLA State Fashion Design Competition

The Rockwall ISD Fashion Design Program celebrates two students who were announced as FCCLA State champions for 2019-2020 school year.

Cooper Neill of RHS placed 1st and Caitlin Roe of RHHS placed 2nd during the FCCLA Regionals event held in Waco in February. Both of these students placed with the same high rank during the FCCLA State Competition, in which their Regional scores were calculated by the FCCLA standard deviation process, due to Covid-19.  The state awards were presented during an exciting live video awards ceremony on April 4th, 2020. These students earned scholarships as well.

Cooper and Caitlin were announced as the top two Fashion Design students who will represent the State of Texas at the virtual FCCLA National Leadership Conference to be held in July 2020.

"Through the Fashion Design program as well as competing at FCCLA, I have learned what it means to make a goal and dedicate yourself to it fully,” said Cooper Neill, RHS Senior and Vice-President of FCCLA and a Co-Director for the Fashion Show. “I've also learned the importance of time management and giving your commitment your all."

Cooper Neill is representing the State of Texas at the 2020 FCCLA National Leadership Conference for the second consecutive year.

"The completion of my final product was amazing which involved a lot of hard work and long hours of sewing,” Caitlin Roe, our FCCLA Historian Senior and one of the Fashion Show directors. “It is truly one of my favorite memories, including almost setting the wings on fire when trying to finish my garment. I am so proud and happy to be a member of such an amazing Fashion Design program for RHHS and the GBCCA.”
