High School Art Students Earn Highest Rating at State Competition

Rockwall High School and Rockwall-Heath High School visual art students recently competed in the Visual Art Scholastic Event state competition in San Marcos and took home the highest rating of a IV.

To compete at the state level, students must first advance at the regional then area level. Students who receive an Exemplary Rating IV are awarded a state medallion and are named an All-State Artist. Students who receive a Rating IV are also considered for the highest honor, a Gold Seal Award. Students selected as Gold Seal winners will receive a Gold State Medallion.

Justin Clumpner, District Lead for Secondary Art and Rockwall High School art teacher, said he’s proud of the students for representing Rockwall ISD well.

“They are all such a joy to work with,” said Mr. Clumpner. “We are very excited to see what they have in store for us next year!”
